Why do children snore?

Snoring is caused by an obstruction to the upper airway. This can be at any point in the upper airway including:

  • nasal passages

  • adenoids

  • tonsils

  • soft palate

  • uvula

  • base of the tongue

However most commonly it is caused by enlarged adenoids +/- tonsils
