Staying safe at ent4kids

We are open for face to face consultations and look forward to welcoming you into our clinic.

Covid 19 has not gone away and we are depending on our doctors, our staff and our patients to ensure that we can provide a safe/clean space for all of us minimising the risk of transmitting the virus.

We are doing this by following the principles below:

covid bupa medium.jpg
  • All staff members and doctors have been fully vaccinated.

  • Maintaining distance

  • Minimising time spent in the clinic

  • Use of PPE and breath shields

  • Hospital grade air filtration machines

  • Disinfection after each patient interaction

Before your appointment please ensure that you read the following pages:

What do you need to do?

Before your appointment

We need you to complete the patient registration form in advance of your appointment. This is so much easier than filling forms by hand and will help minimise handling of pens and paper. In this form you will find a COVID questionnaire section. We need to know that you are not currently infected and carrying the virus. Until rapid swab tests become universally available we need this to be completed.

At the clinic

Please do not come earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment time.

Children can attend with only 1 carer with no siblings and to bring their own toys. This will allow us to maintain social distancing in the clinic environment.

Patients and their carers will have an infrared temperature screen on arrival. They will also need to generously apply hand sanitiser

Should you or your child have a raised temperature of more than 37.8 then you will not be able to be seen in the clinic environment but it may be possible to be seen outside or in your car - please discuss with the reception staff.

All patients and their carer’s will be asked to, wear a mask and gloves (provided during their time the clinic.

Please - no food whatsoever in the clinic area as this is a significant infection risk to other children

Our staff and doctors

Our doctors and office staff are only allowed to work at the clinic if they are well and therefore will also need to complete the same screening questionnaire as patients each time they attend the clinic

Our doctors and audiologist will be wearing a face mask, scrubs and an apron.when examining or carrying out procedures on patients. For some procedures they may also wear a face shield/visor.

For endoscopic procedures e the doctors and nurses will be wearing full PPE

Our clinic environment

Air purification

Our clinic does not have central air-conditioning. We have installed state of the art air purification systems by IQ air, a Swiss company that specialises in air purification in the Healthcare environment. This will ensure there are between 4-8 air changes an hour depending on the size of the room so that you can be assured that your are entering a clean environment.

All chairs, couches, hard surfaces and equipment used by patients are wiped down with Clinell wipes after each visit.

The waiting room is organised to ensure a 2m distance is maintained between families/patients of different households

Please note by following the guidance from the Department of health and our professional body ENT UK we are doing whatever we can to mitigate the risk of infection with the Covid -19 coronavirus but despite all these measures there is always a risk of contracting Covid 19 and this could pose a threat to your health and those who you are close to.
